Classic Margarita
Bright, sharp, and perfectly balanced.
Forget the neon-green mixes. A real margarita is just three ingredients and it's absolutely perfect that way.
Ingredients
- 60 ml tequila blanco (100% agave)
- 30 ml fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
- 30 ml Cointreau (or triple sec)
- 15 ml agave syrup (to taste)
- 1 pinch salt (for rimming)
- 1 cup ice
The Real Thing
A proper margarita has three ingredients: tequila, lime, and orange liqueur. That's it. No sour mix, no blender, no neon green mystery liquid. Just bright, clean, perfectly balanced citrus and tequila. Simple is beautiful.
How to Make It
Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass and dip in salt.
Shake tequila, fresh lime juice, Cointreau, and agave syrup with ice until the shaker is frosty cold — about 15 seconds.
Strain over fresh ice in the salt-rimmed glass. Garni
