Classic French Toast
Thick slices of brioche bread soaked in a vanilla cinnamon custard and cooked to golden perfection. This classic French toast is crispy on the outside, custardy on the inside, and utterly irresistible.
Ingredients
- 8 slices brioche bread (3/4 to 1 inch thick)
- 4 large eggs
- 0.5 cup whole milk
- 0.25 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 0.25 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp butter (for cooking)
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting)
- 0.5 cup maple syrup (for serving)
